So, here we shall talk about all things Pokemon game related. We can discuss our favorite Pokemon, which game we liked the best, and at the moment X & Y shall be coming out in October!


I shall start off by saying how excited I am for X & Y! It seems like it's going to be great with all the new features coming out! The Pokemon they have shown so far seem really cool! For Pre-Order, I have Pokemon Y waiting for me!

My favorite Pokemon game is Pokemon Silver and Gold, by extension Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold are my favorites as well.

I've got way too many favorites. If Pokemon were real I would definitely want to be an Eeveelution Specialist as a trainer and probably later as a Professor.

I'm actually a volunteer employer (for the lack of a better term) for Pokemon. I'm a Pokemon Professor (fancy name for their judges) and Tournament Organizer. I typically help run Pokemon Leagues and TCG events from Pre-Releases and Tournaments.

I don't play pokemon competitively and i barely even know what EV and IV means. but my first pokemon game was yellow and it is my favorite just by nostalgia i guess. Favorite modern pokemon game is white, it is a very cool pokemon game. Favorite pokemon evah is starmie for some odd reason, i like that it can learn a variety of moves outsde of water

EV = Effort Values

Without going into too much detail about it basically, it's what determines the Stats of your Pokemon (HP, ATTK, DEF, ACC, SPD, etc) increasing depending on which Pokemon you defeat. Example: If you defeat a LVL 50 Machamp and lvl up, the Stats that are increased will be different than if you defeated a LVL 50 Nidoking.

IV = Individual Values

Similar to EV, except it's genetic depending on the Pokemon's parents from breeding. So this also effects which Stats will increase as well. It used to not be as complicated, but now that we're moving onto Gen VI there are more factors that make the IV vary greatly. There are factors such as: Gender, Ability, Shiny or Non-Shiny, Nickname, Characteristic, and whether this Pokemon was born from an egg or caught in the wild.

It's way too complicated for me to really care about when I put together a team to battle kids at my league, but my friend's boyfriend is really into competing competitively, so I had to learn about this stuff to help him and because I might have to judge VG tournaments someday.

I really need to prepare myself for E3. Apparently there's going to be a bunch of news on X & Y. I don't know if I can handle it.

Not that I'm not stoked about the new type, but still c'mon! We need more Eeveelutions from the types we've had already!

I was actually just saying the same thing to Hana. Out of all the previous types, I'm hoping for Ghost type the most.

A question about the new Mewtwo form leads to an evasive reply. They’re not able to talk about it at this stage. Though….Sakurai did chime in, saying they’re thinking about having the new Mewtwo form in Smash Bros.

Looks like we can expect X & Y to have multiple rivals again as well.

X & Y reads your 3DS friends list. Anyone you have listed as a friend there will automatically become your friend in X & Y.

Some areas in the game will have different methods for the player to get around. eg. The riding, rollerskates and rail grinding we’ve seen.

You can select battle music for battles against other trainers. The flow of battles doesn’t seem to be different apart from that. You still see the opponent’s team ahead of time, etc.

I'm busy looking at the two Pokemon Clauncher and Skrelp in one of those screenshots. Makes me want to get Froakie more since the new water Pokemon usually disappoint me.

I always pick water starter pokemon, but i'm not really feeling froakie, but i'll still give the guy a chance
