Hey y'all,
i've bben thinking that 3 forms of bending have a ramification or a special thing they can bend. For earthbending there's metalbending, waterbending has bloodbending, and firebending has lightningbending. But air, up until now, has no alternative bending so i was wondering what that special bending for airbending could be. It could maybe deal with soundbending, and use it to manipulate sounds and disorient an enemy. Another possible one could be dealing with air pressure itself as airbending tends to deal most with wind and not static air. You could change the air pressure around a persons head and damage their eardrums or even bend the air out of the lungs, which it wouldnt be used in the show cause that's pretty violent. Or create sharp and sudden changes in preassure to create a string shockwave, like an explosion. I was acually discussing this with chikami and found it really interesting. Any fans have other theories for an alternate use for airbending? please share your thoughts!

You know, I never really paid attention to the fact that airbending doesn't have a specialty o.o but yeah, you're right. They don't.

I think the most likely if we were to see any airbending specialties in LoK or something would probably be soundbending. Maybe Tenzin's daughter Jinora could introduce the concept of soundbending.

that would be amazing if they made jinora discover soundbending, i really like her character for some reason (maybe because i can somewhat relate to her ), and she seems rather talented. And in the off chance that they dont introduce an alternative to airbending i will be a bit sad, but will kinda understand as airbending itself can be a bit versatile

True, true. And yeah, I feel since she is rather talented, she would be the one if they were to introduce such a concept. Maybe as a new method to one-up the enemy. :O like she has some crazy idea, tries to explain it, everyone is like "????" so she just does it and it works!

That'd be nice. You never know what the creators could have up their sleeve.

I'm definitely for Jinora discovering the other form of airbending! Especially with all the reading she does she could very much possibly stumble across it.

Soundbending for sure.

I would imagine the Soundbending would be a clap to the hands and would give off a supersonic wave to throw the person off balance and putting them into disorientation.

I know it wouldn't be an official alternative form of airbending, but I kind of always viewed Meelo's fart-bending as an alternative. Lol. That'd be the worst sort of alternative form of bending to be known for, though.

hahaha true, fartbending can be considered an alternative that crazy meelo. we'll see, i sincerely hope the creators consider showing it on the show, and at least somewhere like in an artbook
